About Us
Riccarton Clinic has a proud history of providing quality medical services since its inception. For over twenty years the team at Riccarton Clinic has combined a General Practice with offering walk-in access (latterly called an Urgent Care Centre) to casual patients. Having allied health organisations on-site we aim to provide our patients with a medical home.

Online Services
Riccarton Clinic is able to provide a number of services online for enrolled patients. This includes making appointments, ordering prescriptions, sending messages to your normal GP and informing us of changes to your address and contact details. Over the next few years the number of services available online is intended to increase.

Visitors to New Zealand
Visitors to New Zealand may need to access healthcare whilst here and many find the walk-in access available at Riccarton Clinic to be a convenient way of doing so. Different rules apply to the provision of health services to non-residents and some details of this are given in the section below.

You can find us at 4 Yaldhurst Road, Upper Riccarton, Christchurch. Visit us between 8am - 8pm, 7 days a week.

Getting the most from your visit
As large as Riccarton Clinic is there is a danger that patients become lost in the number of services on offer and aren't able to make the most of their visit. The following guidance should help.

General Practice
Riccarton Clinic is a General Practice but so much more. In common with all general practices we have doctors and nurses. We allow booked appointments for enrolled patients and provide a very wide range of services to assist our patients to manage their health needs. Unlike many general practices we have extended hours and a pharmacy, even x-ray, on-site all the time we are open.

Urgent Care
Riccarton Clinic is an accredited Urgent Care Clinic. This means that we have systems in place to deal with urgent medical and injury cases during our extended hours of operation whether needed by our enrolled patients, by a casual patient or by a visitor to New Zealand. For casual patients a copy of our notes will go to your normal GP unless you ask us not to send them. If we are closed you can get health advice by phoning our main number.
