South Island champion encourages wāhine who are eligible for breast screening to participate.

Maria Lemalie is the South Island champion for BreastScreen Aotearoa. Having had personal experience of the breast screening programme and as a survivor of breast cancer, Maria encourages eligible wāhine 45-69 to get a mammogram.

You can have a free mammogram every 2 years if you are aged 45 to 69 years and eligible. 

Mammograms can save lives by finding breast cancer early before it spreads.
